How did you discover the Golden Quest Trail?
About 29 years ago with my Father he was a miner

Comments:
Loved the trail... After journeying along the Golden Quest Discovery Trail, I was inspired to recreate what I had experienced: small and large-scale mining and the impact on the surrounding environment to create Eastern Goldfields rich past and modern present with a art exhibition at the Mining Hall of Fame in 2011.

What a great trail!!! Only travelled a part of itwith our two young children (3 1/2, 19 months)...went up to Lake Ballard. I used to camp on this trail as a child and now it's a major tourist drive!!! It's great to see all the signs, picnic benches and drop dunnies!!! So good to see some tourist development of a wonderful part of WA. Well done!!! Looking forward to doing more of the trail in years to come.

In August we had considerable pleasure travelling along the trail. We took three days, staying overnight at the historical Kookynie Grand Hotel and the refurbished Leonora Motel. We enjoyed both accommodations and also the food at Kookynie.

Our main purpose of this e-mail is to record how valuable we found the Guide Book. We read it prior to the tour to give us an indication as to what to expect and then each night the section for the next day.

The CDs gave us an enriched insight into the drama of the lives of the participants. The maps ensured that we did not stray off the trail. (Well not too much. We will remember to turn right when leaving the Siberia Cemetery and not left next time. The detailed map quickly alerted us to our error.)

We can not make any recommendations for improvements in any future edition of the Guide Book as we found the current edition excellent.

We met two Americans travellers at the Kookynie Grand Hotel and they commented that they would not have attempted the trail without the Guide Book.

Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Comments:
I would like my old miner's cottage included if possible in the photo gallery for the Site 9 Kookynie. It has some historical interest as the last timber and iron miner's cottage remaining in Kookynie from the early 1900's.

This is an oustanding web site, one of the best that I've ever seen. Certainly makes me very keen to get to the area, which we are visiting on holidays in April. Was in Kal. in 2002 ( briefly), now looking forward to seeing areas North of it.
